ORIGIN

I had one script per need: a movie list, a YouTube music sorter, ukulele tabs. I merged them into a single application, with a real database, tests and CI.

COMBO

Guessing a track's genre from a bare YouTube title. I cross four sources (iTunes, Last.fm, MusicBrainz, TheAudioDB) that often disagree, score each answer, and keep the work already done when an API goes down or a quota runs out: rerunning the batch picks up where it stopped.

ORIGIN

At an agency, I maintained WordPress sites where the logic was buried in templates. I wanted to build one like an application: business rules in plain PHP, outside WordPress and tested, the schema in migrations, and a Docker image built by CI.

Hardening WordPress one rule at a time. Versions are hidden in asset URLs, JavaScript modules included; login locks after five failed attempts; WooCommerce updates itself, but only for patch releases. Each rule is written outside WordPress, with its tests.
